Research

It seems that the current political situation in the US provides fertile ground for research...

Our political views reflect our experience of the world. And it seems difficult for people at the different ends of the US political polarity to understand each other. So what are the real differences, and on what levels do they occur?

We all have the same basic human needs, but choose different strategies to meet them. And the different strategies function at different levels and have different degrees of pervasiveness. Some are deep and guide a multitude of secondary strategies. Other are superficial although guided by the deeper ones. What are the typical deep strategies that democrats and republicans choose? How do they differ? Is there a chink in the armor where a more genuine human connection can occur?

And how do these deep strategies or orientations in turn influence how we experience the world?

Are there typical differences in empathy? In how wide our circle of concern is? In how we experience the world as fragmented/split or a seamless whole? In quality of life? Level of fear? How comfortable we are of different aspects of ourselves and others? How comfortable we are with complexity and uncertainty?
