Why Rants?

I am sometimes wondering why I want to include a "Rants" section... It is not aligned much with how I want to live my life. On the other hand, it does reflect how I sometimes experience the world. My frustrations with the world. And specifically with the US.

Living in the US takes its toll in two ways.

First, by experiencing everything here that goes against a life-centered approach: (a) The corruption that permeates all levels of the political system. (b) The uninformed, life-alienating and hard views held by so many. Views that twice harms the people holding them - first psychologically by hardening, and then by their social and ecological consequences.

Second, by living in a culture that in many ways is hard and inhumane. A culture that hardens the heart.

Some of the entries here reflect a more humane state, others a more hardened state. It is good for me to experience and recognize both.
